Since last fall when the position of Secretary became vacant, taking turns, various executive members have attempted to keep minutes of both executive meetings and chapter meetings, which has proved difficult and frustrating. We have had no one in charge of refreshments since Ann Lecotc's illness. Members of the executive have arranged for eats to be brought to the meetings, made the coffee and tea and cleaned up afterwards. Now it is necessary for these two key positions to be filled.
The Secretary, a member of the executive with signing authority, is responsible for keeping minutes at both the monthly chapter meetings and executive meetings from September thru May. Twice in the last five years, the President has called a special executive meeting, once in June and once in July. Also the Secretary is responsible for handling correspondence with the national office and other organizations as the need arises.
The person in charge of refreshments is responsible for arranging for refreshments to be brought to the chapter meetings, making the coffee and tea, cleaning up after the meeting and placing the supplies back in our office. For the past several meetings two members of the executive have looked after this, however it is now necessary for someone or two to look after this important test. The executive will make these arrangements for the chapter meeting on January 24, 2001, but will not be able to do so after that, Therefore, unless the position is filled no refreshments will be available a subsequent meetings. PLEASE VOLUNTEER ! ! !
For a number of years the position of Social Convenor has been vacant. Your President and 1st Vice-President have shared this duty for the past couple of years.
We feel it is necessary for someone with some new ideas to fill this position. At present there are two events, the Christmas party in December and the Wine and Cheese party in May. We would appreciate your active participation.
