WOA Christmas Party A Ringing Success

By Carol Aitken
Ring dem bells

The party this year was a wonderful do
Which was only attended by thirty-two!
The fabulous food was laid out buffet style
It was absolutely delicious causing us all to smile.
The Norwood Hotel puts on such a good spread
Making thoughts of Christmas come alive in our heads.

Following our meal a great treat did arrive
In the form of an old tradition, which I'm glad, has survived.
The Bell Ringer Choir was a wonder to behold
The bells are so shiny they look like pure gold.
The women were all dressed in red and black
And entertained us so royally we'd welcome them back.
Their choice of music left us all wanting more
And had us all standing and applauding galore.
Following the music, the Silent Auction began
Which Helmut and Lorne so efficiently ran.
The prizes, all donated, were welcomed with glee,
And added to the evenings frivolity.

For those not attending you missed a great time
Not only great food, also not hearing bells chime.
But despite not showing up - whatever the reason
We're sure you and yours enjoyed the holiday season.
We hope that you have a wonderful Two Thousand and Four
And trust that for you there are good things in store!
