Christmas Party 2007
The Norwood Hotel was once again the site where members and families of the Winnipeg Ostomy Association gathered for our annual Christmas party on Sunday, December 2, 2007. For the second year, we have had an afternoon lunch. The large number of people in attendance indicates that this is a preferred time for most. The Norwood put on a great buffet and as usual the staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. Our entertainment was "The A'Pealing Bells", a group of handbell ringers led by director Morna June Morrow. At one point they had us join them in a medley of Christmas carols. To add to the festivities there were door prizes, reindeer & snowmen poop, Smartie's pills and centerpieces as giveaways and a place card as a keepsake. There were many wonderful items for our silent auction provided by all the members. Much laughter followed as Helmut Friesen and his elves Henry Koop and Joe Jarduck entertained us with antics and humour while distributing the items to some very lucky people. Our very talented Sam Knacker shared his harmonica melodies before lunch and then as he has done for the past couple of years, ended our afternoon by playing 'Silent Night'. A very fitting ending for a wonderful event!
Here's wishing you and yours health, happiness and peace in 2008! Happy New Year to all!
