Should the Winnipeg Ostomy Association Move to a New Meeting Location?
We recently received a proposal from the SMD Self Help Clearing House offering their services to our organization.
Upon investigation, your Executive is recommending that we move all our monthly chapter and other meetings to this new location.
Location:
Society for Manitobans with Disabilities Building (SMD)
825 Sherbrook Street
(This is directly across the street from
the Rehab. Hospital.)
What are they offering?
- Office space
- Meeting rooms - sized to our needs for our monthly chapter meetings, executive meetings, visitor training sessions and other meeting we may have
- Telephone answering and reception
- Use of photocopier
- Use of fax machine - pay only long distance charges
- Secretarial services
- Incoming and outgoing mail service
- A kitchen is available to use for making coffee, etc.
- Free Parking for evening and weekend meetings
- Easy access to transit bus
We would be able to keep our library of books and videos on site, readily available for chapter meetings. Space is available to have our files on site as well as using it as our FOW collection site.
Currently, 18 organizations such as the Anxiety Disorder Association, Autism Society, Huntington Disease Disorder Centre, and Epilepsy Manitoba have availed themselves of the services at this location.
What do you think? We would like your feedback. We would also like to know which day of the week is best for you for chapter meetings. Contact any member of your executive. We will be voting on this recommendation at our April 19, 2000 Annual General Meeting.
Helmut Friesen,
1st. Vice President
