1999 Annual Visitors Report
In 1999, a total of 95 visits were made.
These visits were as a result of the following types of surgeries:
- 54 - patients with colostomies
- 26 - patients with ileostomies
- 1 - patient with 2 ostomies
- 13 - patients with ileal conduits
- 1 - patient with Pelvic Pouch
(47 visits were post-operative hospital, 11 visits were pre-operative hospital, there were 10 home visits and
33 visits were made by telephone)
Many visitors make second and third visits as well as follow-up phone calls - sometimes at a much later date than the original visit - these are not always recorded.
The visiting program is the most valuable aspect of any ostomy association.
