Ice Cold Water

Let's say you're hot from Vigorous exercise. Can drinking ice cold water "shock" the system? Would drinking cool water be better?

There's no harm in drinking ice - cold water, say researchers at the Nutrition, Metabolism, and Exercise Laboratory at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In fact, the colder the water, the faster it empties from the stomach and goes to work replacing water lost through sweating. And, it "can have an immediate effect of cooling off the body's core," says Williams Evans, PhD, the lab's director.
