Nurit Drory has taken on the job of SASO (Spouse & Significant Others) contact person. She will act as a liason with the SASO group at the National level and our Chapter. Our thanks go out to Carol Aitken, our past SASO contact who worked hard at the National & Chapter level to get this vital group going.
A Visitor Training session has just recently provided us with 11 new, eager, and very valuable, visitors who will give Cathy Zitzelsberger, our Volunteer Co-ordinator a larger list to work from. Your Executive echoes the words of the Visitor Training Manual that states "The trained visitor is the heartbeat of the organization." No truer words have been spoken.
A revamped Visitor Re-certification training session will have been completed by the time you read this giving our already hardworking visitors a chance to reflect and refresh their knowledge and commitment to the program.
Several of our members are heading west to take part in the UOAC's Annual Conference in Calgary in August. I recommend taking this conference in if at all possible. Our Wine & Cheese party on May 23, 2007 is a great way to socialize, have fun and start the summer off. Make sure you plan to come out to this event. On behalf of the Executive I wish you all a great summer. Take care and we'll see you in the Fall!
