World Ostomy Day, October 7, 2006
Take time to remember how our life got its fix.
We really suffered before being cut with the knife.
Now we have it to thank for saving our life.
We traded death so that we may live.
A prayer to God, we have to give.
We just remember the pain of before,
To praise for our agony not there anymore.
Wearing a bag does not make us any less,
Except when it leaks and make such a mess.
To be alive, a mess is just a laugh,
At least consider a smile, it would be half.
Be proud of little pinky, he gave you more time
He is the one living in the filth and grime.
You are the lucky one, you have been saved
Remember before surgery, when you ranted and raved?
World Ostomy Day is a day to give thanks
To doctors and nurses and others in their ranks.
Relatives and friends, they help when they can
For the struggles you conquered, you are their greatest fan.
The little ones who lost some of their parts,
They are the champions with their great high -----
We don't feel so bad when we see one of them.
We see them with a smile, when we were so grim.
Advances are happening in our day to day,
On October 7, remember to pray.
