September Chapter Meeting Summary
What a great turnout! We were so pleased to have many ‘first timers' join us. Bonita Yarjou ET, was put on the "Hot Seat" and fielded many questions about blockages and the need for ostomates to be better informed of proper treatment procedures. Other individual concerns were brought forward and many helpful suggestions were offered by Bonita and the members present. Two members were able to highlight their new line of underwear for ostomates.
Our lending library featured member Nurit Drory and her new book "Dressed in Full Smiles". Following coffee, a panel of three members talked about their individual experiences on travelling, use of protection, letters from airlines, eating habits, security issues, packing, and disposal of used appliances. These members brought along with them examples of seals (which are excellent for swimming), plastic cups for protecting stoma sites from seat belts, and support belts to prevent hernias, etc. Questions were asked and answered.
A great time was had by all!
