Cancer is a diagnosis no one ever wants to get. Once diagnosed however, it is in the best interests of the patient to learn all about the latest tests, drugs and therapies available. Armed with this knowledge the patient will be better prepared to ask all the right questions. "The Intelligent Patient Guide to Colorectal Cancer" by Michael E. Pezim and David Owen is a book that attempts to help patients more fully understand this disease and make informed choices. The library currently has one copy.
Since both Thanksgiving and Halloween are fast approaching I though it appropriate to have a trivia quiz about pumpkins. Judging by the number of entries received in last month's quiz I realize a more challenging quiz is required. I regret to inform you that none of the answers can be found in the current newsletter—try the internet, the library or just give it your best guest. Entries can be dropped in the box located on the library display table. First correct entry receives a small prize. September's draw was won by Barb Pryce.
