A 'Cold’ Question

From the Convatec Forum

I would like to find out if freezing and thawing of the Ostomy products can tack place. I take an emergency kit (wafers, pouches, skin prep, and stoma paste) when I go out. I will sometimes leave the kit in the car during the winter and it will freeze. Will this harm the products mentioned above?

Thank-You for your question. The products are sensitive to heat and cold. There is a temperature range marked on the box that is 10C-30C or 50F-85F. Freezing of the product may cause the adhesive to be damaged and therefore not adhere as well. We recommend that you take your product along in a kit with you and not leave it in the car for extended periods.
