As the holiday season approaches we will once again become immersed in a frenzy of activities - shopping, gift wrapping, decorating, entertaining and baking to name but a few. There is little time or thought given to pick up a book and read. So if time is of the essence and you don't have the inclination or time to read a lengthy book pick up a magazine such as the Phoenix. The September issue has a few articles that might peak your interest such as Robert Hudson's Swim to Full Recovery or Roberta Tovar's Loving my Stoma. The library also has back issues of the Phoenix available. Then there is Richard Carlson's The Big Book of Small Stuff which has 100 of his best inspirational stories. These are short stories (3-4 pages) with such intriguing titles as Set a Positive Emotional Climate, Put Your Mind in Neutral or Repeat to Yourself" Life isn't an Emergency. In closing I would like to wish everybody a healthy and happy Holiday Season."
